Lawmaker unveils Bonu constituency I Cup competition in Badagry

The maiden edition of the Bonu Constituency 1 Cup competition has officially kicked off on Saturday at the Badagry Grammar School field in Badagry.

In his address, the lawmaker representing Badagry Constituency 1in Lagos State House of Assembly Dr Bonu Solomon said that the tournament is for all youths in the constituency.

He said, this competition is the agenda for youth engagement, peace, and love and it also meant to develop talents in the game of football.

The competition will feature 12 clubs across the constituency.

Solomon said plans are underway to complete Sports Arena situated inside Badagry Grammar School. It promises to be another exciting sporting spectacle.

During the competition Solomon visited the ongoing construction of stadium.

He assured sport enthusiast that contractor handing the project would soon return to site to complete the job.

Bonu assured that the matches would be played in an atmosphere of lovely competition and it may be a yearly rotation between Badagry, Badagry West and Olorunda.

At the end of the opening match, Badagry Ward B Football Club of Badagry local government defeated Badagry West Ward B of Badagry West LCDA by 2-0 in the first match of Constituent Football cup.

Dignitaries present during the opening maiden edition are: Alhaji Akeem Adeyemi, Vice Chairman Badagry local government, Mr. Folajimi Agosile, Divisional Police Officer, Badagry, Navy Capt. Humphrey Magudu, Commander Officer, Nigeria Air force Base Ahanve-Badary.
