The lawmaker representing Badagry Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Setonji David, ssys he secured 97 jobs and executed several road projects for his constituency between January and August.
David made this known during the Lagos State House of Assembly’s 10th Constituency Stakeholders’ Meeting held on Thursday in Badagry, Lagos.
The 10th edition of the annual meeting has the theme, “Governance in Action: The Gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
According to the lawmaker, the beneficiaries of the employment initiative include youths who secured jobs in the Fire Service, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps, and the Lagos State Civil Service.
“We have helped our unemployed youths to get employment in different state departments and agencies.
“Also, we have also repaired many linked-roads in Badagry, Ilogbo-Eremi, Oko-Afo and Ajara town,” he said.
He assured his constituents that the Lagos State House of Assembly remained fervently committed to their welfare and well-being.
David, who commended the large turnout of the residents for the stakeholders’ meeting assured them that their requests would be included in 2026 budget.
The chairman, Olorunda Local Council Development Area, Mr Peter Ajose commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration for the rehabilitation of Lagos Badagry expressway.
Ajose, who was represented by his deputy, Mr Solomon Adele, said the queues in most filing stations in Nigeria had become a thing of the past.
Mr Babatunde Hunpe, the chairman, Badagry Local Government Area, Lagos, urged the state government to help the council in the development and promotion of tourism.
Hunpe also appealed to the government to help repair some abandoned road projects in the two constituencies.
Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers, Aholu Fabiyi Jimoh, De-Ovitotode Toyi I, the Sano of Ikoga-Zebbe Kingdom urged the state government to assist in repairing Mowo Ikoga Erekiti road.
According to him, the road has become a nightmare for road users.
The traditional ruler assured Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos that the residents of the town would continue to support the ruling All Progressives Congress Party(APC)candidates in the area.
Traditional rulers, chiefs, APC chieftains, council workers, market men and women graced the meeting.
