The Bridge-End International Foundation School based in Calabar have produced students who were able to compete for the first time on the Society Of Petroleum Engineers of Nigeria Science Competition and emerges with excellent awards.
This awards was part of the Yusuf Matashi “Catch them Young” scholarship program to hunt for those raw talents in the field of engineering known as STEM.
Speaking at the forum to appreciate the feet recorded by the young lad is a Lecturer in the Petroleum Engineering Department, University of Calabar, Dr. Engineer Eyo Ukpabio who also represented the Society Of Petroleum Engineers explained that the initiative is a flagship educational outreach program designed to stimulate early academic interest and develop professional awareness for a career in Petroleum Engineering and others related disciplines amongst secondary School students.
He also used the opportunity to describe the winners as “being amongst the future energy leaders” which happens to be what the program of YMCTY targets at secondary School in Science subjects particularly those considering engineering and applied science.
Also speaking is the Principal of the School, Mrs. Jennifer Nsor was feel with joy and gratitude for the young lads performance in putting the name of school in the scientific achieve of Special Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
Speaking earlier is the former Chief Medical Director of University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) who also double as the Board Chairman of Directors, Bridge-End Foundation International High School co-founded by the former first Lady, Mrs. Obioma Imoke but now led by Professor Roland Ndoma-Egba expressed gratitude to the performance of the students for keeping the flag of the school flying.
$he further explain that the ideal standard for modern education involve for the environment of learning to be provided by the school to be up to 45 percent, the level of teaching standard should be up to 10 percent, Supervision role of the students must be not less than 5 percent while the Parents/Guidance should provide 40 percent for a holistic success while commending them for the hard work and commitment with concentration despite the mirages of social media influence on the students today.
In her brief comments by the Principal of the School, Mrs. Jennifer Nsor expressed gratitude to the participating students in the engineering competition for being the school ambassadors and as role models to inspire others.
The Bridge-End Foundation International and High School, Dr. Mrs. Margaret Ndoma-Egba commended the two winners, Daramfon Udoakang while Ayiloka Issac Ibukun came third.
