The Police Service Commission (PSC) has warned Nigerians to disregard any online advertorials claiming that recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force for 2025 has commenced.
In a statement issued by the Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, the Commission said it has not started the process of recruiting new officers.
According to the statement, a recent online publication announcing the commencement of recruitment was described as “fictitious and diversionary.”
The PSC stressed that the advertorial did not originate from the Commission and should be ignored by all prospective applicants.
It added that the Commission has repeatedly appealed to Nigerian youths interested in joining the Police to exercise patience until the proper procedures are formally unveiled.
Ani noted that the forthcoming recruitment exercise will be officially announced by the Commission with clear guidelines and requirements.
“The current online advertorial is not from the Commission and does not in any way represent the character or content of the Commission’s statement announcing commencement of such exercises,” the statement read.
The PSC also warned individuals behind such misleading information to desist from what it described as a “dubious pastime.”
The Commission vowed to conduct the exercise in a transparent and credible manner that will be fair to all applicants across the country.
It reassured the public that arrangements for the 2025 recruitment process are being finalized and will soon be made public.
Meanwhile, Nigerians interested in a career in the Nigeria Police Force have been urged to remain vigilant against scammers taking advantage of their aspirations.
The PSC emphasized that only information released through its official platforms should be regarded as authentic.
It further advised applicants not to fall for fake promises or pay money to anyone claiming to facilitate their recruitment.
The statement concluded with a call for patience, assuring that the Commission remains committed to delivering a recruitment exercise that will meet global standards of integrity and fairness.
The PSC reaffirmed its determination to rid the process of unnecessary interference and ensure that only qualified candidates are admitted into the Force.
