The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved a new round of appointments and promotions affecting senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force across various ranks.
At the top of the list is the appointment of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Dankwara Adamu Mohammed to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police. He will represent the North-East geopolitical zone on the Force Management Team.
DIG Mohammed’s appointment comes following the retirement of his predecessor, DIG Sahabu Abubakar Yahaya, who recently bowed out of active service after years of meritorious service to the nation.
The Commission also announced the promotion of Commissioner of Police (CP) Abibo Deinma Reuben to the next rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), marking another major step in his distinguished policing career.
In a similar development, eleven Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of substantive Commissioners of Police (CPs). Those promoted include Naziru Bello Kankarofi, Nendel Joseph Gomwalk, Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, Wilson Aniefiok Akpan, Morkwap Dongshal, and Abdullateef Ajape Yusuf.
Others in the same category are Cletus Nwadiogbu, Deputy Commissioner in charge of Finance and Administration, Taraba State; Ahmed Mohammed Bello; Abdulraheem Nurudeen; Patrick Daaor; and Umar Mohammed Hadejia.
The PSC also approved the promotion of thirteen Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) to the rank of Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs). The newly promoted DCPs include David Gbenga Ojo, Umaru Bello Bichi, Bala Salihu Jarumai, Makanjuola Abiodun, and Shafii Abdulkarim.
Other officers promoted to DCP are Mohammed Ajose, Mukter Bello of Delta Command, Madamani Adamu, Omololu Vaughan, Linus Ogbodo, Emmanuel Anene Ogbuanya, Tijani Richard Gotom, and Shehu Sambo Bawa Ibrahim. The list also features two police medical specialists, Dr. Onwuegbuzie Gerald Awele and Hamza Ali, a nurse.
In addition, forty-four Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) were promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs). Prominent among them are Victoria Olayinka Mulero, Commanding Officer, SPU Base 22, Oyo State; Alirat Odunola Adedeji; Olufunmilola Oluwaseun Amore; and Ezeokafor Emmanuel Nnonso.
Others include Conchita Ngozi Uzoma Braide, Onaji Patrick, Anayochukwu Henry Ekeocha, and Alkali Abbah Hadeja of Works Section, among several others whose promotions were approved during the plenary session.
Furthermore, 412 Superintendents of Police (SPs) were elevated to the rank of Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs). The list includes Odey Peters Idaba, Emmanuel Peter Okoh, Mohammed Dan-Mallam Abdulrahaman, Fawole Oludayo, Ntum Onyekachi, and Tudon George.
The newly promoted CSPs also include Njoku Chibueze Onwe, DPO Akwete, Abia Command; Chukwuemeka Howells Anyimukwu, DPO Uturu, Abia State; Ngozi Ajaegbu, Police Special Fraud Unit, Lagos Annex; and Okoye Tobechukwu Godwin, Unwana Division, Ebonyi Command, among others.
Also promoted are Sarah Maximus Oloto, DCO A Division, Uyo; Usman Nuhu Iluobe, FCT Command; Nnamdi Okeke, X-Squad Zone 13 Ukpo; and Oke Oluleke Oluseye, Chief Security Officer to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.
The PSC further promoted several Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP), including Rekpene Ukpabi Ekoh of Ebonyi Command, Tonga Monday of 48 PMF Ahoada, Omiegbu Christian Emenike of Delta Command, and Kolos Nathaniel of 16 PMF Abeokuta.
In addition, the Commission confirmed several Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) to substantive ranks, among them Obike Elizabeth of SPU National Assembly, Adeoye Olufemi of the Lagos Command, Osuagwu Precious Chioma of SPU Base 6 Port Harcourt, and Ani Emmanuel.
Chairman of the Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), mni, congratulated all the newly promoted and confirmed officers, urging them to rededicate themselves to service and uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in policing.
