The Police Service Commission (PSC) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening ethical policing and institutional efficiency as it received the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Mr. Olusegun Alebiosu, on a courtesy visit to its Corporate Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.
The visit, led by the FirstBank CEO, focused on renewing and deepening the long-standing strategic partnership between the Commission and the financial institution. Discussions centred on enhancing operational efficiency, staff welfare and collaborative initiatives that support the PSC’s mandate of promoting transparency, accountability and professionalism within the Nigeria Police Force.
Welcoming the delegation, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd), mni, expressed appreciation for the visit and described the partnership with FirstBank as both timely and valuable. He noted that collaboration with reputable private sector institutions remains critical to strengthening governance structures and advancing citizen-centred policing in Nigeria.
DIG Argungu assured the FirstBank team of the Commission’s readiness to sustain and expand the cordial relationship, adding that such partnerships contribute significantly to institutional growth and service delivery within the policing system.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening mutual cooperation for the overall benefit of the Commission, the Nigeria Police Force and the nation at large, underscoring the importance of public-private collaboration in national development.
Also present at the meeting were DIG (Dr.) Taiwo Lakanu (rtd), Board Member of the Commission and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Nigeria Police Force Matters, and Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, Secretary to the Commission. They both expressed optimism that the renewed partnership would yield positive outcomes for the Commission’s operations and reform efforts.
The courtesy visit took place on Thursday, December 18, 2025, and further reflects the PSC’s openness to constructive engagement with key stakeholders in pursuit of effective, accountable and ethical policing in Nigeria.
