President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday addressed Nigerians following a telephone conversation with former United States President Donald Trump, during which both leaders discussed recent diplomatic tensions and reaffirmed their commitment to peace and cooperation.
The Nigerian leader described the discussion as constructive and candid, noting that the two sides agreed to prioritize peace over conflict, hope over fear, and unity over division. He said both countries recognized the concerns that had been raised as genuine and would take the necessary steps to address them.
In his address to the nation, President Tinubu reassured Nigerians that the protection of citizens remains the core responsibility of his administration. He emphasized that every Nigerian, irrespective of faith or origin, must feel secure and enjoy the full protection of the state.
