The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. (Barrister) Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, has announced a strong focus on agriculture, road infrastructure and empowerment programmes in the council’s 2026 budget, aimed at improving the living standards of residents.
Rosiji made this known while presenting the 2026 appropriation bill, titled “Budget of Positive Impact and Transformation,” at the Ojokoro LCDA Legislative Chambers in Ijaiye, Lagos State.
The council boss said the proposed budget reflects her administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and sustainable development, stressing that the document was shaped by the collective aspirations of the people.
According to her, the success of the budget would depend on effective collaboration between the executive arm, legislators, councillors, council workers and the people of Ojokoro LCDA.
She lauded Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, for providing purposeful leadership and a supportive policy environment that has enabled local councils to function more effectively.
Rosiji noted that within just five months of her administration, Ojokoro LCDA had recorded notable achievements in grassroots development, improved security architecture and enhanced service delivery.
She listed road rehabilitation, installation of solar-powered streetlights, ICT training for youths and other community-focused projects as some of the key interventions already executed by her administration.
Looking ahead, the chairman pledged that the 2026 budget would place renewed emphasis on regenerating internal revenue, blocking leakages and promoting transparency in the use of public funds.
She said women empowerment would also receive priority attention, in alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s APC-led Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at inclusive economic growth.
Rosiji disclosed plans to expand mechanised farming initiatives to boost food security and create employment opportunities for residents, particularly youths and women.
She added that investments in social infrastructure, especially education and healthcare, would be strengthened to improve human capital development across the council.
The chairman further revealed that a N100 million empowerment scheme would be implemented with strict transparency and accountability to support small businesses and vulnerable groups.
Assuring residents of sustained progress, Rosiji said her administration remains committed to delivering democracy dividends. “Together, we will continue to build an Ojokoro LCDA that works for all,” she said.
