The National Compliance Joint Taskforce of Licensed Clearing Agents (NCJTFLCA) celebrated its three-year anniversary in spectacular fashion on Wednesday, drawing industry leaders, anti-corruption advocates, and well-wishers to Rockview Hotel and Suites, FESTAC Town, Lagos.
The event coincided with the birthday of the association’s President, High Chief Dr. Basil Chudi Nwolisa, who received tributes from friends, family, and colleagues for his steadfast commitment to integrity in Nigeria’s maritime sector.
Industry stakeholders, including captains of maritime associations, customs brokers, and civil society actors, converged to honor the achievements of NCJTFLCA over the past three years.
In his address, Dr. Nwolisa described his team as patriotic and dedicated, applauding their unwavering efforts to combat corruption and promote compliance across Nigeria’s maritime and clearing industry.
“It takes commitment and patriotism to achieve what NCJTFLCA has accomplished in three years,” Dr. Nwolisa said. “We began with a mission to confront systemic non-compliance, and our passion for change continues to drive us forward.”
He highlighted the association’s growing nationwide recognition and partnerships with anti-corruption agencies and civil society groups, crediting the team’s dedication for their success.
As part of the celebrations, NCJTFLCA inaugurated the KLT Chapter, appointing Jude Chukwuma as Chairman, Ukachukwu Azubuike as Secretary, and Martin Igweagu as Member of the Taskforce.
Dr. Nwolisa charged the newly inaugurated officers to uphold the highest standards of integrity, shun corruption, and demonstrate patriotism in their new roles.
He also appealed to maritime practitioners to comply fully with trade regulations, warning that any deliberate circumvention could result in legal action and penalties.
The highlight of the event was the cutting of the anniversary and birthday cake, where Dr. Nwolisa, alongside his family, colleagues, and friends, expressed gratitude to God for his continued health, longevity, and success.
