The National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) has showered praise on two familiar figures in the Nigeria Police Force, describing their latest appointments as a triumph for competence and professionalism.
In a congratulatory message issued in Lagos, the association saluted the immediate past Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who has been deployed to Delta State Command as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations.
At the same time, NAOSNP extended warm wishes to CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, who was officially announced as the new Force PRO by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun. The group described both men as trailblazers whose work has left an indelible mark on police–public relations.
Comrade Oki O. Samson, National President of NAOSNP, said the association was not surprised by the latest reshuffle, insisting that both officers had built reputations that made their elevations almost inevitable.
According to him, Adejobi’s professional journey has been marked by steady growth, from his days as Public Relations Officer in Ogun State, to Lagos State, and eventually to the Force Headquarters in Abuja where he became the face of the Nigeria Police Force.
“His trajectory is a testament to hard work and dedication,” Samson observed. “We have witnessed firsthand the impact of his communication style and his ability to humanize the image of the police before the public.”
Turning his attention to Hundeyin, Samson noted that the officer’s rise also reflected years of quiet preparation and consistent delivery. From his stints at Zone 2 Command and Lagos State Command, Hundeyin became a household name for his sharp, timely updates and open-door approach to media relations.
“The Inspector-General could not have chosen a more fitting replacement,” Samson declared. “CSP Hundeyin has the right blend of academic training, practical experience, and deep understanding of public relations in security management.”
NAOSNP emphasized that the appointments were more than routine changes, but a strategic repositioning of the police communication machinery at a time when the institution is eager to win back public confidence.
The association assured the new Force PRO of its full support, pledging to continue spotlighting the positive exploits of the police across the country. “We are co-laborers in this task,” Samson said. “Our role is to amplify their work so that Nigerians can see the sacrifices officers make daily.”
Beyond the official congratulatory notes, the message was tinged with genuine admiration for Adejobi, whose warm personality and Yoruba farewell phrase “Ire o!” had endeared him to journalists and the public alike. “We wish him breakthroughs and successes in his new operational role,” NAOSNP stated.
The group equally highlighted Hundeyin’s strong academic foundation. With a BA in English Language from Lagos State University, an MSc in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan, and advanced training in civil-military coordination from Jaji, his credentials, they said, are “as impressive as his career track record.”
Hundeyin’s affiliations with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, the International Public Relations Association, and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management were also cited as proof of his commitment to continuous professional growth.
For NAOSNP, these appointments are not only victories for the officers themselves but also for the Nigeria Police Force, which stands to benefit from their wealth of expertise. The association expressed confidence that both men would keep raising the bar of police service in their new responsibilities.
“Congratulations DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi. Congratulations CSP Benjamin Hundeyin,” Samson concluded, adding that the nation could only expect greater things from two officers whose stars continue to rise.
