The Maritime Reporters’ Association of Nigeria (MARAN) will launch a new publication, “50 Drivers of Nigeria’s Marine and Blue Economy”, on Tuesday, December 4, 2025, at Providence Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos.
The book, compiled by Nigeria’s leading maritime journalists, highlights individuals and institutions whose leadership, innovation, and commitment have significantly shaped the nation’s maritime sector.
MARAN President Godfrey Bivbere said the publication will serve as both a tribute to industry pioneers and a reference for scholars, investors, and policymakers seeking insights into the evolution of Nigeria’s maritime economy.
“This indispensable volume educates industry professionals on the history and opportunities within the sector, spotlighting individuals and organisations whose contributions are shaping a future where Nigeria’s marine resources are responsibly leveraged for economic prosperity,” Bivbere said.
He added that readers will gain insight into how the blue economy sector’s past is influencing its future growth and potential.
Bivbere noted that the book represents months of research and editorial work by MARAN members, carefully documenting the contributions of stakeholders, agencies, and associations in the maritime space.
The launch event is expected to draw top government officials, regulators, shipowners, freight forwarders, terminal operators, and other key industry players.
MARAN described the publication as a rare compendium showcasing excellence, professionalism, and dedication in Nigeria’s maritime sector.
