The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, has called on residents of Lagos to support security agencies through donations and partnerships to strengthen safety across the state.
Dr. Ogunsan made the appeal while addressing journalists in Lagos, emphasizing that sustained public and private contributions were vital to improving the capacity of security operatives in the state.
He said the LSSTF was established as a public-private partnership to provide equipment, logistics, and training for all security agencies operating in Lagos, especially the Rapid Response Squad (RRS).
According to him, the fund, created by law in 2007, was designed to ensure that law enforcement agencies have the resources they need to act swiftly, respond effectively, and protect residents.
“Lagos is a city of ambition, hope, aquatic splendor, and possibilities. But to achieve all these, we need safety and security,” Ogunsan said.
The LSSTF boss explained that the fund had so far delivered more than 1,500 patrol vehicles, body armour, communication gadgets, and other logistics to various security agencies across the state.
He added that the agency had also supported neighborhood response teams to improve community-level safety and emergency response.
Despite the progress recorded, Ogunsan said the growing population of Lagos and evolving crime patterns made it necessary for increased investment in security infrastructure.
“When the men and women in uniform have what they need, our homes, offices, markets, and streets become safer. But there is still more to do,” he stated.
He appealed to individuals, private organizations, and government agencies to contribute to the fund through cash donations, equipment support, public advocacy, and partnership.
“The security of Lagos State is in our hands, your hands, and my hands. LSSTF is for Lagos, with Lagos, and by Lagos. Let’s build it together,” he said.
Ogunsan released the official bank details of the Trust Fund for donations, stating that no amount was too small or too big to contribute.

He expressed appreciation to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his consistent support and leadership in sustaining the LSSTF’s objectives and ensuring safety in the state.
Ogunsan also thanked existing donors — individuals, corporate organizations, and government bodies — for their continued commitment to the Fund, saying their generosity had directly contributed to saving lives in Lagos.
