Lokogoma, Abuja — Joy, expectation, and thanksgiving filled the air on Sunday, September 7, 2025, as the New Covenant House Church officially opened its doors in Saraha Estate Phase 1, Lokogoma.
The event, hosted at House 26, Drive A, near Pen City Estate, marked the beginning of what many described as a fresh wave of spiritual revival in the community.
Anchored on the theme, “Building with Christ His Church,” from Matthew 16:13–19, the inaugural service reminded worshippers that this gathering was not just another assembly but the living expression of Christ’s promise: “I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
The keynote speaker, Dr. Bolaji O. Akinyemi—an Apostle and Nation Builder—delivered a stirring message that blended biblical depth with practical vision. Known for his uncompromising voice on faith and nationhood, he described the new church as “Christ’s project, not man’s.”
Drawing lessons from Matthew 15 and 16, Dr. Akinyemi highlighted how Jesus turned from the multitude to focus on His disciples. “If church-building was about numbers,” he told the congregation, “Jesus would have started with the crowd. Instead, He chose a few and prepared them for lasting impact.”
He explained that the foundation of any true church must rest on revelation, not popularity. Peter’s declaration—“You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God”—was, he said, the immovable rock on which Christ builds.
Warning against hollow religion, he added: “A church without Christ at its center is nothing more than a social club. Lokogoma doesn’t need another club; it needs the living Church of Christ.”
Describing Christ as the Master Builder, he emphasized that the Church does not belong to pastors, members, or even denominations. “It is Christ’s,” he said. “And He builds through His Spirit, His Word, and His people.”
Dr. Akinyemi illustrated the building process vividly: faith as cement, the Word of God as blueprint, prayer as scaffolding, holiness and love as the finishing touch. Without these materials, he warned, no church can stand.
He urged members to see themselves as “living stones” being carefully set into God’s spiritual house. “Each of you carries a role in this divine project,” he declared.
Turning to Christ’s promise, he assured the church that no opposition would prevail. “The gates of hell signify authority and resistance—but victory belongs to the Church. Sin, Satan, and death have already been defeated.”
His tone grew bolder as he challenged the congregation: “We are not defensive. We are not hiding from the world. The Church is advancing—taking territories, planting congregations, transforming communities. Lokogoma is not just a location; it is now a kingdom territory.”
Another highlight was his teaching on the keys of the kingdom. He explained that through prayer, preaching, discipleship, and service, the church holds authority to unlock destinies and shut down darkness.
Then came a practical call: “Will you build with Christ, or will you stand idle?” he asked. He outlined four ways members could contribute—win souls, serve actively, give sacrificially, and pray fervently for leaders and the community.
The message culminated in a prophetic charge: “This church will not just survive—it will thrive. It will not just gather; it will scatter seeds of revival across Abuja, Nigeria, Africa, and the nations.” The congregation erupted in shouts of Amen!
The service ended with solemn prayers of dedication. Leaders and members laid hands on the ground, committing the new assembly to Christ as its true Builder. What began as a small gathering now stands as a beacon of hope, signaling that the promise of Christ to His church is alive and well in Lokogoma.
