The Lagos State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, has formally celebrated the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Corps Oluwaseun Abolurin, following his recognition as Outstanding Public Relations Officer of the Year 2025.
The award was conferred on Abolurin by People Security Monitor at its 2025 Annual Security Summit and Recognition Awards held at the Nigeria National Merit Award House in Maitama, Abuja.
The event, which took place on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, brought together senior security stakeholders, media professionals and policy experts from across the country.
Keshinro acknowledged the achievement during a high-level management meeting of the Lagos State Command on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
The meeting, held at the Conference Hall, Zone 1, Federal Secretariat, opposite Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos, was attended by management staff, Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, as well as Operations and Tactical Commanders.
Addressing the gathering, the Commandant described the award as a proud moment for the Lagos State Command and the entire Corps.
He commended the organisers of the summit, particularly the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Alhaji Isiaka Mustapha, for what he described as a credible and well-regarded selection process.
According to Keshinro, the recognition of the Command’s PRO by respected voices in security and communication circles underscores the quality of leadership and professionalism within the Lagos Command.
He noted that the award was a testament to Abolurin’s integrity, dedication and consistency in managing public communication for the Corps.
The Commandant said the PRO’s strategic handling of information, effective media engagement and proactive public enlightenment on security issues had strengthened public trust in the NSCDC.
He added that these efforts have significantly enhanced the visibility and credibility of the Corps, particularly in Lagos State.
As part of the ceremony, Keshinro presented Abolurin with a Distinguished Service Award of Excellence in Information Management and Public Trust.
The Commandant urged other officers to draw inspiration from the PRO’s commitment to excellence, stressing that hard work and professionalism do not go unnoticed.
In his remarks, Abolurin expressed gratitude to the Commandant and the management of the Lagos State Command for their support and encouragement.
He dedicated the award to officers and men of the Command, noting that effective public relations is a collective effort.
The recognition further reinforces the Lagos State Command’s reputation for effective communication and public engagement within the nation’s security architecture.
