Sadiq Gentle, a senior special reporter attached to the Kano State Ministry of History and Culture, has been killed in a brutal attack by suspected hoodlums. Gentle, who served under the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, passed away on Thursday morning at the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano.
The attack occurred on Sunday night when suspected phone snatchers stormed Gentle’s residence, attacking him with a knife before fleeing with his belongings. Gentle sustained severe injuries from machetes and clubs during the assault.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf strongly condemned the killing, describing it as “heinous, barbaric, and utterly unacceptable”.
