An appeal has gone to the Nigerian policy makers to make public office
unlucrative for the politicians
Speaking in Lagos on Wednesday after being conferred as the Businessman of the Year 2025 by the Leadtimes Africa magazine, the Founder and Managing Director of UR9 Group Hon (Dr) Uriel Ezeh advocated for making governance unlucrative to attract people of integrity into public office emphasizing the importance of integrity and transparency in leadership.
Dr Ezeh. noted that if election to the National Assembly, State Assembly and Local government is made unattractive men who will serve the nation with integrity will be attracted.
.His words: ” I have always advocated for the policies of integrity and transparency especially, governance.is very important for you to govern effectively you need the trust of the people.
“For example of you are a senator or a member of the House of Representatives ,a Local government chairman , councilor or even the presidency if you lack integrity people will not trust you and you cannot speak for them
” Integrity is the most vital thing but in Nigeria people tend to compromise.Without integrity you tend to compromise That is why a man who has nothing when he is elected into the public office, he begins to acquire wealth indiscriminately.
Dr Ezeh thanked the management of Leadtimes Africa magazine for deeming it to give him the prestigious Businessman of the Year
2025.
” I am not taking the honor for granted.” he added.
