The Cross River State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu has made a firm promise to be physically present and watch the Youths that desire to make Cross River State proud in Table Tennis Youths championship game come 2025 edition.

This assertion was made in Calabar on weekend during the closing ceremony of the annual Table Tennis State Championship to select those that will represent the state at the National level championship in the Boys and Girls categories.

Governnor Otu who was represented at the 2024 events in Calabar by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governnor On Sports Development, Mr. Lawrence Etta at the Table Tennis Hall, inside U.J. Esuene Stadium expressed delight at the level of the competition which the Youth in the state have exhibited.

Mr. Etta also explained that the talents exhibited by the Youths at this level of championship is very marvellous and needs to be further given encouragement to help them excel to the National and International level of which Cross River State had a high level of records in Table Tennis at International level.

The two days event was organized by the State Table Tennis Association which ended with results showing that Cadet Boys Category, Jesy Ebe emerged 1St to win Gold Medal, Victor Godwin became 2nd with Silver Medal while Emmanuel Bassey paired with Godswill Vincent won Bronze respectively.

Similarly, in the Girls Category, Enane Obasi emerged 1st with Gold Medal, Ekips took 2nd position with Silver Medal and Precious Josph and Blessing Edet paired for Bronze medal.
