More than five thousand patients troupe out on each day into the Cross River State own Calabar General Hospital along Mary Slessor Road in to catch the opportunity of free Medical Out Reach offered to Cross Riverians courtesy of Bishop MRS. Eyoanwan Otu, who describe it as her pet program known as “Humanity Without Borders” (HUWIB) is being carried out in conjunction with a group of surgeons and Medical experts from the United States of America referred to as FaithCare Outreach International is an initiative that enables HUWIB extend vital health services to the most vulnerable amongst the people mostly those in our rural Communities who are unable to access quality healthcare because of limited resources.
MRS. made the assertion in Calabar as she declares the six days events open in Calabar on Monday,16 th June, 2025 as she explained that the HUWIB program started the free outreach as a non-profit making organization and has recorded remarkable milestones Such as have given a total of 705 free Medical surgeries, 2,138 Eye care services, 807 dental care procedures, 898 laboratory investigations with over 5,000 general consultation which spanned across the 18 Local Government Area of the state”, she declared.
She narrated that through consistency and selfless partnership with her co-vioneers, the “Faith-Care International, they have brought smiles and even tears of joy to the faces of thousand of Cross Riverians and also others Nigerians residence in the state.
In attempt to make this possible, MRS. Otu do not forget that behind every successful woman, there’s a woman behind and also, behind every successful Man, there’s a woman behind him. And for that reason, she used the opportunity to express appreciation to the husband, the “Sweet Prince” Senator Bassey Edet Otu for his total support and leadership role as well as the partnership, FaithCare Outreach International for the team’s of surgeons and Medical experts that came for the weeklong services.
In his remarks at the occasion is the team leader of FaithCare Outreach International, Professor Peter Schantz express delight to the Governnor’s wife for collaborating with the organization which is indirectly propagating the gospel by offering free quality Medical services as a form of expressing love for humanity.
