The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Wednesday urged the motorists and people plying Agbara Badagry Seme expressway to obey rule and regulations to avoid crashes.

Mr Yusuf Sanni, the Unit Commander, FRSC Badagry Unit Command, gave the advice while speaking with motorists at Badagry motor park to mark 2025 World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Crash Victims.

According to him, accident is no respecter of anybody.

“Anybody can be involved once he or she disobeys rule and regulations laid down by the corps,” he said.

He said 2025 theme tagged ‘Lost Talent ” highlighted the immense human potential wiped out by road crashes.

Sanni said road crash remained the leading cause of death among young and old in the county.

“Each life lost represents a dream interrupted, a future unfulfilled, and talent that can never be replaced.

“While deaths are counted annually, families remain bereaved forever.

Many who lose friends, colleagues, neighbours, or community members continue to suffer silently,” he said.

Speaking to newsmen, the unit commander said the command had visited selected mosque, church and hospital to sensitise them on the use of highway.
