The Federal Road Safety Corps, Badagry Unit Command in Badagry Local Government on Monday handed over the sum of N647,850 and other materials to the relatives of crash victims.
Mr William Manga, the Unit Commander, FRSC, Badagry said the victims were involved in accident along Mile 2 Badagry expressway on July 6.
According to him, six passengers died immediately while two others gave up the ghost on the way to the hospital making eight while 13 others sustain varying degrees of injuries.
“The FRSC personnel exhibited its professionalism in the rescue operation by taking the 13 injured victims to General Hospital in Badagry for medical attention.
“They deposited the eight dead passengers to the morgue of the same hospital,” he said.
Manga said that some property recovered from the scene of the accident includes cash and hand sets.
He said the command had called on the relatives of the crash victims to come over and reclaim the property recovered from the scene.
Manga said that some relatives of another crash had earlier come to receive N40,000 and N5,000 and hand sets belonging to their victims, making N692, 850 altogether.
Receiving the money on behalf of the four crash victims, Alhaji Tsoho Babangida thanked the unit commander for reaching out to them after the sorrowful accident.
Also speaking, Alhaji Haruna Sanni, the Chairman, Arewa Community in Badagry said the crash victims were Mile 2 traders going to Seme to buy carrot, Iris potatoes and others.
Sanni commended the unit commander for reaching out to them to collect the money of the victims.
He said one of the victims was alive receiving treatment at the hospital.
