Federal civil servants in Cross River State have applauded the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) for their remarkable contributions to the growth and stability of federal establishments in the state.
Dr. Rita Akpan, Chairman and Head of Federal Establishments in Cross River State, gave the commendation during a celebration held in Calabar to honour outgoing heads of these federal agencies. She described their service as exemplary, defined by professionalism, discipline, and unwavering dedication.
According to her, the officers’ leadership roles and outstanding performance have significantly strengthened the activities of federal institutions across the state, making them worthy of emulation as they transition into the year 2026.
The event, which also marked the end of the 2025 fiscal year, provided an opportunity for Dr. Akpan to reflect on the achievements recorded by various federal bodies. She urged staff across all MDAs to remain focused and steadfast as they continue to implement reforms aligned with national priorities.
She emphasized the need for “renewed commitment to service,” noting that improved efficiency within federal establishments will not only deepen government presence in Cross River but also reinforce public trust in the civil service.
Dr. Akpan encouraged workers to maintain a culture of consistency and innovation, stressing that effective service delivery remains essential to nation-building. She reminded them that their roles directly shape the image of the federal government in the state.
Reflecting on the outgoing year, she called for stronger synergy among federal institutions, urging MDAs to enhance communication channels and deepen cooperation to achieve better results.
She explained that the various establishments had diligently responded to national directives with precision, upholding the core values of the Federal Civil Service—excellence, accountability, transparency, and integrity in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Dr. Akpan expressed satisfaction with the progress made by her colleagues, noting that their collective achievements over the year demonstrate their commitment to the overall vision of the civil service.
Concluding her remarks, she stated that she felt honoured to lead such an exceptional group of professionals, adding that their dedication and achievements have continued to inspire her leadership.
