The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, has reaffirmed his commitment to deepening inter-agency cooperation among security agencies within the nation’s capital.
He made this known during a series of courtesy visits to the Commander Guards Brigade, Brigadier General Adebisi Onasanya; the Commander Naval Base Abuja, Commodore O.E. Oladipo; the Commander 053 NAF Camp, Group Captain H.S. Ibrahim; and the Commandant, NSCDC FCT Command, Dr. Olusola Odumosu.
The visits, which took place on Wednesday, 22nd October 2025, were part of the Police Commissioner’s ongoing familiarization tour aimed at fostering stronger collaboration and enhancing the overall security architecture of the Federal Capital Territory.
During the engagements, CP Dantawaye emphasized the importance of synergy and intelligence sharing among security agencies as a crucial tool in tackling emerging threats within Abuja and its environs.
He stated that effective policing can only be achieved when all security stakeholders operate with a shared vision and mutual understanding in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The Commissioner lauded the cooperation and professionalism of the sister agencies, noting that their contributions have played a significant role in maintaining peace and order across the FCT.
At the Guards Brigade headquarters, Brigadier General Adebisi Onasanya welcomed the Commissioner and commended his proactive leadership style, assuring him of continued support from the military formation.
Similarly, at the Naval Base Abuja, Commodore O.E. Oladipo reaffirmed the Navy’s commitment to sustaining a cordial working relationship with the Police in ensuring safety across the capital city.
Group Captain H.S. Ibrahim of the 053 NAF Camp also pledged continuous collaboration in intelligence gathering and joint operations, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in ensuring a secure environment.
In the same vein, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, the Commandant of the NSCDC FCT Command, applauded the Commissioner’s initiative, describing it as a demonstration of leadership geared toward building stronger institutional cooperation.
Across all visits, discussions centered on reinforcing existing partnerships, strengthening information-sharing mechanisms, and improving joint operational responses to security challenges.
The visits also highlighted the need for sustained trust, open communication, and coordinated actions to ensure the safety of residents and visitors within the FCT.
At the end of the tour, CP Dantawaye and the heads of the sister security agencies pledged to maintain close collaboration and continue working together to protect lives and property.
The Commissioner reiterated his belief that a united front among security agencies remains the most effective way to confront criminal elements and ensure lasting peace within the nation’s capital.
