The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has decorated a new set of senior officers recently elevated to higher ranks, reaffirming the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to promoting merit-based advancement within the Nigeria Police Force.
The ceremony, held at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja, brought together senior management officers, family members, and colleagues of the newly promoted officers, who turned out in celebration of their career achievements.
Speaking at the event, CP Olohundare congratulated the officers on their well-deserved promotions, describing the elevation as a recognition of hard work, dedication, and professional integrity in service to the nation.
He commended the Police Service Commission (PSC) for maintaining a transparent and credible promotion process that continues to encourage professionalism and accountability among police personnel across the country.
According to him, the promotions reflect the IGP’s unflinching resolve to reward excellence and ensure that only deserving officers are elevated to positions of higher responsibility in line with the Force’s reform agenda.
The officers promoted include those elevated from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), from Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Superintendent of Police (SP), as well as confirmed Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs).
CP Olohundare conveyed the goodwill message of the IGP, urging the officers to view their new ranks as a call to greater service, discipline, and leadership within the Force and in their respective communities.
He reminded them that every promotion carries increased responsibility and expectations from both the Police hierarchy and the citizens they serve, calling on them to discharge their duties with fairness, courage, and professionalism.
Among the beneficiaries of the promotion are CSP Agba Anna, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Ajao Estate Division; CSP Jacob Gana Jiya, DPO Ilemba-Hausa Division; and CSP Hadiza Jidda, DPO Ogombo Division.
Others include CSP Amoda Fatai, Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) Ikeja Division; CSP Udomfiok Emmanuel, Second-in-Command (2IC) Gender Unit; CSP Aroloye Bamikole, DPO Agbowa Division; and CSP Momoh Kamaldeen, DPO Apapa Division.
In their collective remarks, the newly promoted officers expressed deep gratitude to the IGP for recognizing their contributions to policing and to the Police Service Commission for ensuring fairness in the promotion process.
They also appreciated the Lagos State Police Command for providing an enabling environment for effective policing and promised to redouble their commitment to upholding the core values of integrity, service, and excellence.
The officers pledged to use their new positions to strengthen community relations, improve response strategies, and ensure that Lagos remains safe for residents and investors.
In his closing remarks, CP Olohundare Jimoh charged the officers to justify their new ranks through consistent performance, discipline, and innovation in tackling emerging security challenges.
