The Celebrity Journal Publishers Association of Nigeria (CJPAN) has concluded preparations for its 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Award Ceremony, scheduled to hold on Wednesday, November 20, 2025, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Hall, Alausa, Ikeja. The event will commence at 12 noon.

This year’s gathering — one of the most anticipated in Nigeria’s media and entertainment community — will be held under the theme: “Strengthening the Voice of Celebrity Journalism in the Digital Era.”

According to the organisers, the 2025 edition aims to celebrate excellence in journalism, highlight the evolving role of celebrity reporting in the digital landscape, and honour individuals whose work continues to shape the nation’s creative and media industries.

Renowned activist, author, serial entrepreneur, and motivational speaker Mr. Somi Uranta will deliver the keynote address as Guest Speaker, drawing on his vast experience in leadership, advocacy, and communication.

In a statement ahead of the event, Mrs. Funmi Olowosegun, President of CJPAN, said the ceremony will recognise outstanding personalities who have made remarkable contributions in their respective fields, reflecting the association’s tradition of celebrating distinction and integrity.

She also announced that Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, philanthropist and Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, recently appointed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will be officially decorated as the Grand Patron of the association during the ceremony.

Olowosegun lauded the unwavering support of corporate sponsors, financial institutions, and individual partners who have stood by CJPAN since its inception, noting that their commitment has fueled the organisation’s growth and relevance in Nigeria’s media space.

“As an Oliver Twist, we are asking for more support to enable us to do greater exploits in the journalism arena in the coming year,” she said with optimism.

She added that the AGM will also provide a platform for members to reflect on the association’s achievements, discuss strategic objectives, and strengthen collaboration among journalists covering the celebrity and entertainment sectors.

Organisers say guests can look forward to an afternoon of networking, recognition, and thought-provoking discussions about the future of media in an increasingly digital society.

Industry analysts have praised CJPAN’s continued effort to uphold ethical standards and professionalism in celebrity journalism, describing the annual gathering as a unifying forum for creativity and innovation.
