A former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from Bayelsa State who is now the Secretary General Affairs, for the Brotherhood Of The Cross And Star (BCS) Religious Organization World Wide, Patriach Senator Biobarakuma Degi has revealed that Olumba Olumba Obu is Brotherhood Of The Cross And Star And Brotherhood Of The Cross And Star is Olumba Olumba Obu which got registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in 1964 after moving from his birth place of Biakpan in Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State into Calabar.
He also declared that the Founder/Leader Olumba Olumba Obu who is also known as “Sole Spiritual Head of the Universe” is the only “religious organization in the world which originated from Africa and founded by African with the World Headquarters of the organization located at No.34 Ambo Street, Calabar, Cross River State Capital, Nigeria and Branches in every part of the world.
This assertion was made in Calabar at Weekend as Christians the world over celebrate Good Friday in a Press Conference consented by His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, “The Leader of the Universal Theocracy and Chairman Of The Brotherhood Of The Cross And Star (BCS) Executive Council World Wide to correct false and misleading information peddle in both the print and electronic media” concerning the Press Conference on 1st March,2025, at No. Nsikak Eduoke Avenue, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State by a handful breakaway brethren led by one Victoria Clarke & others.
The statement further revealed that “Kingdoms are established for Kings. The King of Brotherhood Of The Cross And Star in the New Kingdoms of God on earth is His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu”was officially, divinely revealed/Ordained and Crowned as The King of Kings and Lord of lords by his Father, Almighty Leader Olumba Olumba Obu in a highly Spiritual Ceremony in 1999 and appointed Him as the Chairman, BCS Executive Council World Wide/Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Since then, no body has borne the title, it added.
Others insinuation is that, “as a highly Spiritual organization whose Divine Leadership is derived from the heavens above, none is entitled to enthrone himself or herself as the leader”of BCS. The process is not subject to any form of election or law but by divine anointment because the ideas of “Trusteeship is a mere fulfillment of Government regulations, it does not affect Spiritual leadership of the kingdom”.
Therefore, “despite the baseless contention against the leadership position of His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu by the breakaway group , His Kingship and Leadership remains incontrovertible.
Interestingly, the breakaway group have only succeeded in making unsuccessful attempt to change the Brotherhood Of The Cross And Star Board of Trustees of which the matter is now before Court of Appeal and we will not delve into that to avoid sub-judice. But specifically, We are only going to debunk the following issues as being published in the social media that (a ) New Board of Trustees’ claiming that a new Certificate fraudulently obtained from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) which they displayed during their Press Briefing) at Uyo is not legally recognize. (b) That Victoria Clarke, Alex Igwe and 9 others made the list of the new Board of Trustees’for the BCS thereby ending the 24years long standing crisis. (c) That His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu is held in high regard as the second child (First Son) now referred as His Holiness and King of Kings but the breakaway group referred to him as an impersonator. (d) That BCS is not a family Business (e) That an act of violence was perpetuated by BCS members against the breakaway group and that the very few bethels where a handful of their loyalist worship were invaded amongst other supurious claims.
In responding to the issues raised by the breakaway group in their Press Conference, we want to state catecogorically that : (a) The breakaway group is a handful of brothers and sisters who had since 2001 taken a firm position not to submit to the Leadership of His Holiness, Olumba Olumba Obu. We utterly reject this position and we are not forcing them to remain with us. The contention here is that,they can breakaway and give their organization a new name but not Brotherhood Of The Cross And Star and operates independently.
