Badagry lawmaker set to empower over 1,000 residents

The lawmaker representing Badagry Constituency 2 and the Deputy Chief Whip in Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Setonji David will on Saturday Oct.11, host a major empowerment programme for his constituents.

Mr Posu Davies, the media aide to the lawmaker disclosed this on Sunday while speaking with newsmen in Badagry.

According to him, the initiative is not political but a large-scale intervention targeted at the vulnerable, including widows and orphans.

He said that the empowerment, billed to take place at the Nigerian French Language Village, Ajara Badagry, would kick off at 11.00.a.m.

“The empowerment is expected to reach more than 1,000 beneficiaries.

“Items to be distributed include work equipment for artisans and traders, along with instant cash support to cushion the effects of economic hardship.

“This programme is about uplifting lives and giving people the tools they need to survive and thrive.

“It is not political. Our focus is on the vulnerable, widows, and orphans who need urgent support,” he said.

Davies said that the empowerment event will be chaired by the Lagos State APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, while chieftains of the party from Lagos and Badagry would be in attendance.
