The Anambra State Police Command has announced plans to host a Christmas Carol of Nine Lessons and an End-of-Year Party as part of activities lined up to mark the 2025 festive season in the state.
The event, which carries the theme “Policing: A Shared Responsibility,” is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, by 5:00 p.m. at the Vertex View Hall, Nibo, Awka.
According to the Command, the programme is designed to bring together Ndi Anambra from all walks of life, including security stakeholders, traditional rulers, community leaders and other relevant partners.
The gathering is expected to provide a platform for reflection on the collective role of citizens and security agencies in sustaining peace, law and order across the state.
Beyond the spiritual significance of the Christmas Carol of Nine Lessons, the event will also serve as an end-of-year celebration to appreciate partnerships that have contributed to improved security in Anambra.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, MNIPS, PhD, said the initiative underscores the importance of collaboration between the Police and the public.
Orutugu noted that policing thrives best when communities actively support security agencies through timely information, cooperation and mutual trust.
He explained that the event was also aimed at fostering unity and strengthening bonds among stakeholders who have worked closely with the Police throughout the year.
The Police boss commended Ndi Anambra for their support and understanding, which he said had played a key role in maintaining relative peace and stability in the state.
He added that the Command was using the festive occasion to call for renewed collective commitment to security, particularly during the Yuletide period when public activities increase.
Orutugu stressed that sustaining the current level of safety requires continuous vigilance and shared responsibility from both residents and security agencies.
The Commissioner further assured that the Police Command remains resolute in its mandate to protect lives and property across Anambra State.
He said proactive policing strategies would be sustained to ensure a peaceful celebration and a smooth transition into the year 2026.
The Command also urged residents to remain law-abiding and security-conscious in their daily activities.
The Anambra State Police Command expressed optimism that the event would further strengthen community policing efforts and reinforce a culture of partnership for a safer and more secure state.
