The Anambra State Police Command and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) have strengthened their collaboration to combat the distribution of counterfeit, substandard, and unwholesome products in the state. This development follows a meeting between the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, and the South-East Zonal Director of NAFDAC, Pharm. Shaba Mohammed.

The meeting, which took place on August 13, 2025, at the State Police Headquarters in Awka, aimed to enhance inter-agency collaboration and promote public safety in Anambra State. Both agencies discussed strategies to combat the menace of counterfeit products and ensure the quality and safety of food, drugs, and other regulated products.

CP Orutugu reiterated the Command’s commitment to supporting NAFDAC in the enforcement of relevant laws to safeguard public health. He emphasized that effective policing requires strong partnerships with sister agencies and assured that the Command will continue to provide necessary security support during NAFDAC operations in the state.
