The Anambra State Police Command has taken a significant step in tackling cultism and illicit drug trafficking in the state. On August 12, 2025, police operatives from the Special Anti-Cultism Squad Enugwu Ukwu raided a black spot at 7th Mile, Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area.
The operation, which was carried out at about 2:30 pm, resulted in the arrest of six suspected cultists. The suspects were identified as Olisaemeka Izuchukwu, Isioma Chisom, Chinonso Izuchukwu, Chinaza Isioma, Onyekwelu Miracle, and Mrs. Chinenye Eloka Okeke.
During the raid, the police recovered one fabricated Beretta pistol without a magazine and quantities of illicit drugs, including Mkpuru Mmiri (crystal meth). The recovery of these items is a significant breakthrough in the fight against cultism and illicit drug trafficking in the state.
